Command line interface (CLI)

Bifröst is available through the bifroest executable. Commands perform server operation, key management, audit-journal processing, and platform-specific service management.

Commands

• bifroest run starts the Bifröst server.
• bifroest version prints version and build information.
• bifroest key groups commands for generating and exchanging SSH trust material.
• bifroest audit groups commands for verifying and exporting audit journals.
• bifroest recording groups commands for inspecting session Recording artifacts.
• bifroest service manages the Bifröst system service on Windows and macOS.
• bifroest help shows help for the CLI or a selected command.

General flags

General flags are available with every command.

--help

bool = false

Shows context-sensitive help. Use bifroest help to request help for a specific command path.

--log.level

Log Level = "INFO"

Defines the minimum level at which log messages are emitted.

--log.format

Log Format = "text"

Controls the format of log output.

--log.colorMode

Log Color Mode = "auto"

Controls whether text log output uses colors.

--version

bool = false

Prints version details. For command-specific output control, use bifroest version.
